MARCH 2009
Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing - "The Ultimate Body Fat Test"

These are stressful times we are in, with economic uncertainty, stock market woes and bailouts, and you may be tempted to lose sight of your health and fitness goals. But in crazy times like these, your health is the one thing you CAN control. By working out and eating right you will not only feel better about yourself and burn off any stress you may be feeling, but it will also help you reach your goals that much faster.

Remember, tracking your progress with regular dunks is a sure-fire way to keep you accountable and on track!

TIPS To Help You Reach Your Goals!
Local Fitness Expert Offers 3 Easy Steps

Jason Ventetuolo, local fitness professional and owner of The Boot, an outdoor fitness boot camp, has some great (and practical) tips to help you reach your fitness goals faster:

*Schedule It - Most of us lead busy lives with often hectic schedules, but this doesn't have to keep you from working out. Schedule a time that works for you - if you are not a morning person, don't try to hit the gym at 5:00 am before work, you will only set yourself up for failure. Instead, schedule a time you know you can stick to. Shoot for working out at least three times a week, with a combination of strength and cardio workouts. This way you'll be building lean muscle and burning fat.

*The More the Merrier - Many clients I have worked with over the years find they achieve better results with a fitness program if they involve a friend or family member in their plans. Having a workout partner, someone to hit the gym with, take a run with you, or even try a new workout class with, is always more fun and will help keep you accountable to your goals.

*Stick to It - You may get discouraged when you don't see the results you want right away, or maybe after getting some results, you suddenly feel your progress has plateaued - don't give up! This is a natural part of the process. Just stick with your fitness and nutrition plan. If you feel one area of your plan isn't working, talk to a nutrition or fitness professional and see if you can somehow improve on what you're doing. It's important to remember that regular monitoring of your progress also helps keep you motivated. As you take control of your health, you will feel more confident, and that will shine through in other areas of your life.

In Good Health,
Jason Ventetuolo, The Boot
